Aeos

Race Profile

The Aeos claim descent from transcendent beings who seeded civilization across the galaxy and then departed for higher dimensions — a story other species find either inspiring or insufferable, depending on how the Aeos are doing in diplomatic negotiations that week. Their psionic tradition is the oldest and deepest in the known systems. Aeos commanders govern not through armies but through will, patience, and the quiet authority of those who have been meditating on the nature of conflict since before your species discovered fire. They are reluctant warriors. When reluctance fails, the results are difficult to look at.

Strategy Guide

Gameplay Style: Aeos

Aeos are a research-and-diplomacy race that lives or dies by keeping enemies at the negotiating table. With +30 Diplomacy and +15 Research, your opening moves should pour Production Points into the Void Nexus and diplomatic investment early. Target techs in the Signal Arts category first — these unlock the psionic weapon lines that compensate for the severe -30 Military penalty.

Avoid direct warfare until you have at least two tiers of psionic technology researched. The -30 Military and -20 Production modifiers mean standard fleet engagements are costly. Instead, use your +15 Spy bonus to run intelligence operations that weaken potential aggressors, and maintain PACT or ALLY relations with as many neighbors as possible. Your +65 initial Sovereignty relation gives you enormous early diplomatic cover.

In the mid-game, Aeos rewards patience. Let other civilizations exhaust themselves in early wars while you compound research advantages. When combat becomes unavoidable, bring admirals with high tactical ratings and lean on psionic weapon loadouts — they bypass conventional armor far more efficiently than standard munitions. Your low Berserk modifier (-20) means your fleets stay disciplined even under pressure.
