IPF

Race Profile

The Interstellar Peace Force was founded by three species who had just finished a war that killed a combined population of forty billion and wanted to make certain it never happened again. Two hundred years later the IPF operates across eleven systems with a treaty infrastructure so comprehensive that their legal scholars have published seventeen volumes on the technical definition of 'aggression.' Their commanders carry diplomatic credentials granting special access at Sovereignty court. Their ships carry weapons rated for peacekeeping operations only. Their crews are trained to fire them as a last resort, and are very good at making the last resort feel extremely far away. Most of the time, this is enough. The rest of the time they have contingency plans, which are classified.

Strategy Guide

Gameplay Style: IPF

IPF is the ultimate diplomatic-economic race, built around leveraging the highest Sovereignty relation in the game (starting at 80) into real protection, trade, and political influence. Pacifist is a uniquely powerful ability: if another player attacks you without provocation, your Sovereignty standing gets a significant boost, which triggers legal and diplomatic consequences against your attacker. This means aggressive races must think twice before targeting you — the diplomatic cost of attacking IPF is higher than attacking almost any other civilization.

With +30 Diplomacy, +20 Research, and +15 Efficiency, IPF rewards a long-game economic approach. Invest heavily in Void Nexus and development fund early. Terraform Gravity gives you the same planet flexibility as Humans, dramatically expanding where you can colonize. Keep Sovereignty relation above 60 at all times — above that threshold you receive measurable diplomatic benefits that protect you even if your fleet is modest.

The -40 Berserk modifier is the lowest in the game, meaning IPF fleets are always disciplined. This matters in defensive engagements: your ships will not panic, will not over-commit, and will execute tactical retreats cleanly. Your -15 Military is offset by Information Network Specialist spy operations — use them to disrupt aggressors before they can mount an attack. IPF's strongest position is inside a powerful Syndicate, providing diplomatic and research support while using the Syndicate's military umbrella as your primary defense.
