Everian
The Everian Research Cooperative built the intelligence that became the Voidborn. This is not disputed. What is disputed — strenuously, in seventeen ongoing court proceedings — is whether they are responsible for what it subsequently did. The Everians fled their homeworld when the Voidborn outgrew it. They have been relocating ever since, staying one system ahead of what they made, carrying their research archives, their institutional paranoia, and their extraordinary gift for electronic infiltration. They are the best scientists in the known systems if you don't count the Voidborn, which they prefer not to.

Gameplay Style: Everian
Everian is the highest research output race in the game. With +35 Research, +20 Genius, and both Trained Mind and Efficient Investment abilities, your technology progression is unmatched — even faster than Rekkan when Genius compounds with research investment. In the early game, pour everything into Void Nexus (40–50% ratio) and research fund investment. Target Void Engineering techs first to unlock component upgrades that extend ship capability beyond what your Military bonus suggests.
Your +25 Spy bonus and Information Network Specialist make Everian one of the best intelligence-gathering races. Run regular RECON and STEAL_TECH operations against competitors — the tech-stealing ops are particularly valuable, as they can shortcut your already-fast research into lateral unlocks. Fragile Mind Structure is a real vulnerability against psionic races like Aeos, Midorians, and Ninthali — prioritize psionic shielding components on your ship designs.
The -20 Growth and -15 Production penalties mean Everian planets develop slowly. Counter this with consistent development fund investment (Efficient Investment makes this cost-effective) and by targeting high-base-production planets in Expedition missions. Your -10 Survival modifier is the lowest in the game — avoid costly engagements where fleet attrition is high. Build a strong, tech-superior fleet and rely on quality over quantity. The goal is to reach a tech tier where your ships so outclass opponents that combat losses become minimal.
